Respectful and responsible use of the libraries

Please remember

  • Silence mobile devices when entering the library. Leave the library to answer a voice call.
  • Children under 9 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Maintain tolerant, polite and hygienic behaviour.
  • Respect the rules of each library service.
  • The shelves are freely accessible for consulting items in the library or using the loan service.
  • Keep materials in their correct order on the shelves.
  • Be respectful towards staff, other users, the collection and the facilities.
  • Staff may request identification when required to provide certain services.
  • Anyone who does not respect the rules may be asked to leave temporarily or permanently.
  • Services close 10 minutes before the facilities close.

The following is not permitted

  • Bringing food or drinks other than water.
  • Shouting, speaking excessively loudly or disturbing the quiet needed for reading and study.
  • Removing items without completing the loan procedure.
  • Damaging library furniture, property or facilities.

Complaints and suggestions

An online complaints and suggestions form is available, and a paper copy may also be requested at the library desk.
